DEADWOOD, SD — The Deadwood Mountain Grand and the EB5 program investors finalized the settlement on Friday, August 16, ending all litigation.
With the settlement comes a new era of leadership for the Deadwood Mountain Grand Resort, as longtime member Dale Morris takes the helm as member director.
A well-known Booker in the Nashville music industry and longtime investor in the Deadwood Mountain Grand, Morris funded the settlement that ended the litigation.
With this funding, the attorneys settled the outstanding debt of $32.5 million plus interest.
“Mr. Morris has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the employees of Deadwood Mountain Grand as well as to the town of Deadwood and the entire Black Hills region,” says lead attorney Kasey Olivier of Olivier Miles Holtz.
With the cloud of litigation lifted, Dale Morris looks forward to implementing new opportunities that will benefit Deadwood Mountain Grand employees and customers.
“Deadwood Mountain Grand has had an undeniably positive economic impact on Deadwood and the region and is an asset to the community,” said Lee Harstad, director of Deadwood Chamber & Visitors Bureau. “They put on over 40 shows a year, and bring in a number of bands throughout the year, all of which impact the bottom line of town and city businesses. We are grateful to Dale Morris for stepping in and leading the charge of Deadwood Mountain Grand into the future.
